University degree "Update on new maritime issues, globalization and oceans".
From Sorbonne University with the Center for Strategic Studies of the Navy. Over 4 months at a rate of twelve days on a bi-monthly basis, this training is intended for executives involved in maritime issues. It is about :
- raise awareness of all oceanic and maritime issues,
- give keys of analysis to the understanding of these issues,
- offer content based on research conducted in the various faculties of Sorbonne University and on the operational experience of the Navy.
Typology of coastal benthic habitats in Roscoff
This 4-day training course is intended for anyone responsible for observing or monitoring the coastline. It is about :
- interpreting marine coastal ecosystems,
- recognize characteristic or determining species,
- classify major coastal habitats.
Taxonomy of algae, in Roscoff
In partnership with the National Museum of Natural History. This 4-day training course is intended for anyone who carries out biodiversity inventories. It is :
- highlighting determining taxonomic characters,
- know the limits of identification on macroscopic morphological criteria,
- know the methods for preserving samples,
- know the relevant bibliography.
Taxonomy of benthic invertebrates, in Roscoff
In partnership with the National Museum of Natural History. This 4-day training course is intended for anyone who carries out biodiversity inventories or monitors the coastline. It is about :
- highlighting determining taxonomic characters,
- know the taxa that are indicators of the ecological quality of the environment,
- know the relevant bibliography.
Biotech, marine ecology, in Roscoff
This 3.5-day training course provides an introduction to the taxonomy and culture of phytoplankton. It is intended for professionals in research laboratories and biotechnology companies in microalgae.
Larval Fish Course
Concarneau International Course on the identification of fish larvae. Lectures on the main characteristics of identification, systematics, ecology, sampling and conservation methods.
Scientific drawing course
Organized by the National Museum of Natural History in Concarneau. Lasting one week for about ten participants, it includes a teaching on fish anatomy, history and techniques of scientific illustration in ichthyology.
“Blue Train" program
As part of the "Blue Train" program, Roscoff trains 50 to 75 teachers each year in marine biology, ecology and biotechnology through academic training programs and 20 teachers from maritime and agricultural high schools.
National education
The National Museum of Natural History is developing a program of initial and in-service training for primary and secondary school teachers of all disciplines and academies. Marine sciences are included in this program.
National Protocol DCE/DCSMM
Training in Concarneau on the national protocol DCE/DCSMM "subtidal macro-algae and associated fauna" with private, public and associative organizations.
Control of fisheries
Training of Maritime Affairs, Gendarmerie and Customs officers in the identification of fish and seabirds for their fisheries control mission. It is carried out by the Concarneau station within the framework of an agreement with the Ecole Nationale de la Sécurité et de l'Administration de la Mer (ENSAM).
