The aim is to involve citizens, elected officials, associations and professionals in the collection of information, data, samples or knowledge about the ocean.

As a scientific monitoring method, participatory science is also a communication tool for co-constructing knowledge, sharing a vision of the quality and evolution of marine ecosystems and developing management strategies through research and action programs on the sea.
