Each year, each French person consumes an average of 34 kg of fishery or aquaculture products, compared to 20 kg in 1960, which is also the world average in 2020. These products come from all over the world.
Aquaculture is growing rapidly. It supplies 55% of all aquatic species marketed, is expected to reach 60% in 2030, then double in volume by 2050.
